2. INTRODUCTION

 A few short years ago there was a dream to have a computer OS on the Nintendo DS.
 And not to long ago an innovator by the name of LAZYONE ported the Mini vMac program to the Nintendo DS.
 This allows us to emulate the Macintosh computer and run classic programs and games on the go.
 That very dream is now a reality and now you can have an old Macintosh in you Pocket.

3. INSTALLATION AND USAGE

  Current versions of Mini vMac DS needs a card reader (like M3, Supercard, G6,
  R4DS(M3 DS Simply), NinjaDS, etc.)
  and a passkey/passcard (You should know how to get/use them) for slot-2
  devices.

                                 <!>     :NOTE:    <!>

* 2MB Versions Do Not Require any Slot-2 RAM Expansion !

* 4MB Versions DO REQUIRE a Slot-2 RAM Expansion !

<!> (4MB Builds do not require a slot-1 card, unless it's the opera expansion) <!>

The devices that are now supported for the SLOT-2 RAM are

* Supercard
* M3
* G6
* EZ
* Opera

  <!> Note about DLDI

  At least the following devices should be supported thanks to the DLDI system
  made by Chishm:

    * DSLink (microSD Card)
    * Ewin2 (SD Card)
    * EZ Flash 4 (SD Card)
    * EZ Flash 5 (SD Card)
    * G6 Flash (version 0.15)
    * M3 Adapter (Compact Flash)
    * M3 Adapter (SD card)
    * Max Media Dock (Compact Flash)
    * GBA Movie Player (Compact Flash)
    * GBA Movie Player (SD Card)
    * NEO Flash MK2 & MK3 (SD Card)
    * NEO2 (SD Card)
    * Ninja DS (SD Card)
    * R4 (DS)- Revolution for DS, M3 Simply compatible
    * SuperCard (Compact Flash)
    * SuperCard DS (Slot-1)
    * SuperCard (SD Card)

  Take a look here: http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/index.html
  You can patch Mini vMac DS.nds to support others devices as long as those
  device have been made compatible with the DLDI system.
  So you should visit this site regularly for update, if your device is not
  supported by Mini vMac DS yet!

<!> MINIVMAC.CFG is very important don't forget to put it in the root directory
  Now you have a MINIVMAC.CFG file to put in the root (which means "initial")
  directory of your card.

4. Creating System Discs for Mini vMac DS

               <!> NOTE <!>

For best results use Macintosh System 6.0.8

          What you need:

- A valid Macintosh plus ROM file (vMac.ROM)
- Mini vMac 2.8.2 (http://minivmac.sourceforge.net/beta/index.html)
- SSW_6.0.8-1.4MB_Disk1of2.sea.bin (http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html#system)
- SSW_6.0.8-1.4MB_Disk2of2.sea.bin (http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html#system)
- Dummy file creator (http://www.mynikko.com/dummy/)
- Stuffit Expander for Windows (http://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/download.html)

  Step 1 - Extracting the system install disks

 Open Stuffit Expander and drag both system disk archives into the window that says "Drag and drop archives and encoded files here".
 You will now have several files; the important ones are "System Startup" and "System Additions". You may delete the two archives as well as
 any other files created by the extraction process.

  Step 2 - Create the hard disk image

 Open Dummy File Creator ("dummy.exe"), select the target size you want between 5mb and 200mb.
 Click the "Set Path" button to name the file "mac_hd.img" then press the "Create" button. You will now have an empty disk image called "mac_hd.img"
 Step 3 - Initializing the hard disk image
 Open mini Vmac (PC Version), go to the file menu and select "Open disk image".
 Now, browse to where you extracted the system disks and set "Files of type" to "All files".
 You can now open the disk called "System Startup"; once you do the emulated Macintosh will boot up and wait on the desktop.

 Before doing anything else, go back to the file menu and select "Open disk image again", except this time you'll open "mac_hd.img".
 A warning will now appear on the Mac screen telling you that the disk is not valid and gives the option to initialize it, press "Initialize" here.

 The next popup box will ask to confirm erasing the disk, press the "Erase" button.
 Yet another popup box will come up and ask for the title of the disk, it's up to you what you want to put here.

 If all went well, you will have another disk on your Macintosh desktop. Now it is time to install the system software.
 Step 4 - Installing the system software
 Open up the "System Startup" disk that is sitting on your Macintosh desktop. Now double click the installer application to launch it.
 Press OK for the first screen that shows up. The default options are fine for now, if you want you can customize the installation but that won't be covered here.

 When you press the "Install" button, the installation process will begin and eventually stop and ask for the "System Additions" disk.
 Go back to the file menu and open the "System Additions" disk you extracted earlier.
 The installer will run for a bit then ask for the "System Startup" disk again, use the file menu again to re-insert the system startup disk.

 Congratulations, you have installed System 6.0.8!
 Now press the "Quit" button on the popup box, go up to the "Special" menu in the Mac screen and select "Shutdown".
 The end
 You may now use the disk you just made in the Nintendo DS port of Mini vMac.

5.  INSERTING SYSTEM DISCS

  	<!> NOTE <!>

  *Discs load in this order

      (  disk0.img  ,  disk1.img......disk6.img )
